Dianthus - Carnation

Dianthus is a genus of plants in lots of colours and varieties. The small ones are very suited to rockeries, along paths or in the front of the border. Dianthus often has a nice scent and is a good cut flower. Plant Dianthus in the full sun in good draining soil, preferably containing some lime. Dianthus looks good combined with Origanum, Campanula portenschlagiana, Gypsophila repens and Saponaria.
