Carex - Sedge

Carex is a very large genus of evergreen or deciduous grasses. They are found all over the world. The panicles of Carex are sometimes not very interesting, which cannot be said for its foliage. A characteristic of Carex is the triangular shaped foliage. Most species require a normal to moist soil in the sun. There are some species of Carex that, once established, will do well in dry shade.
